Established in 2002, Tairunnessa Memorial Medical College is a private medical educational institution in Bangladesh. It is an institution of the Tairunnessa Memorial Medical Centre founded by Mohammad Shamsul Hoque, named after his mother, the late Tairunnessa, a social reformer.
Tairunnessa Memorial Medical College & Hospital is affiliated with University of Dhaka as a constituent college and is also recognized by Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC) and registered under the Ministry of Health and Family welfare of Bangladesh. Tairunnessa Memorial Medical College & Hospital is approved by World Health Organization (WHO) and is also recognized by National Medical Commission (NMC) of India which ensures that the degree given by college is globally valid and graduates can work in any country after clearing the screening test of their respective country. College offers a five-year medical education course leading to an MBBS degree. A one-year internship after graduation is compulsory for all medical graduates. The Tairunnessa Memorial Medical College has around 700 students, including students from Nepal and India.
